Erling Haaland urges Man City fans to stick together after verdict
Haaland sent a message of unity and positivity to Manchester City supporters ahead of Sunday’s trip to Anfield to face Liverpool.
Erling Haaland, of Manchester City, urged the club’s fans to stick together and stay positive after an independent commission’s decision. City have already lodged an appeal against the ruling.
As Sky Sports reports, the club were found guilty on all charges tied to serious breaches of Premier League financial rules. The commission said that between 2009/10 and 2017/18, Man City used “sham” contracts as part of a “disguised funding scheme” to artificially inflate revenues by £830m.
With the off-field case ongoing, Haaland turned to football. The Manchester City squad head to Anfield this Sunday to play Liverpool. Asked what he would tell City supporters before the match, Haaland said: “We have to stick together… stay positive… and… have a smile.”
