Ernesto Terzic names 22 Athletic players for Anoeta derby vs Real Sociedad

Athletic Club, under Ernesto Terzic, takes on its first Anoeta derby with a squad of 22 players for the Euskal Herria Txapela final against Real Sociedad (this Saturday at 19:00), as reported by MARCA.

The coach has the available first-team players and brings in two youth goalkeepers: Mikel Santos, the third keeper of the first team, and Simón García. Prados and Rego make their first appearances this season, while the main novelty is Vivian’s return after two and a half months of treatment for an injury carried over from last campaign.

Terzic leaves out international Simón, Laporte and Nico (already back at home with an injury), plus Padilla and Djaló, who finished with Guinea-Bissau and will rest. After Anoeta, Athletic get two free days before turning back to the league week with a trip to Vallecas on October 10.

The match versus Rayo is hanging in the balance for Nico Williams: he returned from international duty with a moderate injury to the rectus anterior of his left leg, and he would be ruled out if the medical update confirms the current outlook.
