Estéban Lepaul to start for Rennes vs Auxerre after Lyon’s 0-4

Estéban Lepaul arrives with momentum at Rennes after celebrating his first three call-ups with France during the latest international break. The Rennes forward is expected to be in the starting XI this Sunday at 17:15 against Auxerre, as the team looks to rediscover its attacking sharpness after conceding the game at Lyon (0-4).

Per L'Équipe, Lepaul was one of the talking points of Zinédine Zidane’s first France training camp: he earned his first call-up at 26. Two years after beginning Ligue 1 with Angers, he returned to the spotlight at Rennes, riding the wave of last season’s top-scorer award.

On the international stage, aside from his first taste of European competition this term, he featured in three of France’s four Nations League matches. He started in Belgium (1-0, 28 September) and again on 5 October versus the Diables Rouges (4-1).
