Ezequiel Fernández’s rise gives Robert Andrich a chance at Leverkusen

Leverkusen’s defensive midfield hierarchy is already clear this season: Ezequiel Fernández has teamed up with Aleix García as the usual starting duo. The rise of the new international could now create an opening for Robert Andrich, shifting the competition inside the squad.

As kicker reports, the change puts Xabi Martínez in a tight spot when it comes to managing playing time and the exact balance of his midfield. With Fernández gaining momentum, Andrich’s chances of minutes increase.
