Facundo Bernal appeal rejected: Betis keeps 4-match ban for clash with Lamine
RFEF upholds the four-game suspension for the Uruguayan at Real Betis, ruling him out vs Celta and League matches vs Málaga and Elche.
The RFEF Appeal Committee has dismissed Real Betis’ appeal and kept the four-match suspension for Facundo Bernal after the incident against Lamine Yamal.
The initial penalty was handed down on Wednesday by the RFEF Disciplinary Committee, which classified the action under article 103.1 of its disciplinary code. Betis argued the incident wasn’t properly reflected in the match report and asked for the act to be treated as violent conduct instead of aggression. The Disciplinary Committee rejected the claims and applied the minimum ban for that category.
With the decision in place, Bernal will miss Celta, the Copa visit to Navalcarnero, and the league games against Málaga and Elche. He also had to stop training due to a calf problem, leaving before completing the session, as Diario de Sevilla reports.
