FC Nantes fans uneasy as club ownership talks continue

Nantes host Reims on Saturday at 14:00 as the Loire stand remains closed since May 17 and the DNCG reviews Phenix Sport Invest’s buyout.

FC Nantes face Reims this Saturday at 14:00 in a tense atmosphere over a potential change of ownership, with the club in 15th place in Ligue 2 and the Loire stand still closed since May 17.

As RMC Sport reports, the buyout offer led by Phenix Sport Invest is now under review by the DNCG after a sale “compromis” was signed on September 29. The file should be resolved in the coming weeks, including whether Waldemar Kita stays as club president for a 20th year.

Even with the return of the Brigade Loire this weekend after five months without that stand, supporters are focused on the seriousness of the new backers and warn against a player “trading” model.

The issue also reached an extraordinary CSE meeting on Tuesday that lasted nearly three hours, where staff representatives had an eight-page document outlining the Phenix Sport Invest plan. In that meeting, the CSE said it had “its most serious concerns” about the proposed takeover, while the HR presentation claimed there would be no layoffs—only contract changes for commercial staff.
