Filipe Luis (Monaco) plays it down on the title: “you can’t compare with Paris”
Monaco top the table with 13 points in five matchdays, two ahead of Lyon; Conference League begins Oct 15 vs CSKA Sofia.
Filipe Luis has made it clear that at AS Monaco there’s no rush to talk about the Ligue 1 title. The 41-year-old Brazilian coach arrived this summer and, despite leading the league, is urging caution: his side have 13 points from five games, sit two clear of Lyon and the Paris FC, and keep the Paris Saint-Germain five points behind.
Take it match by match
On RMC Sport’s L’After Foot, he stressed his stance with a direct line: “On ne peut pas se comparer avec Paris.” He argued that PSG “won the last two Champions Leagues” and that it’s “the best team in the world.”
Conference League kicks off Oct 15
Monaco finished 7th in 2025-26 and earned the Conference League. Their first matchday is set for Oct 15 against CSKA Sofia (18h45). “It will be a very long season,” he said, adding they’ll focus “game after game” and aim to stay high in the table.
