Five operations at Juventus: Grabara is the latest setback
Kamil Grabara has been operated today on his right knee as Juventus racks up five injury cases since the season began, with layoffs up to seven months.
Juventus keeps piling up bad news in a difficult start. Beyond results, the club is currently dealing with an intense stretch of injuries. As Mundo Deportivo reports, the five players who have gone under the knife since the season began leave Luciano Spalletti short on options.
The latest blow: Grabara
The goalkeeper Kamil Grabara—this term’s arrival on loan from Wolfsburg—has been operated today in his home country on his right knee after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament during training. The injury happened just two days after his debut, on September 17, versus NEC Nijmegen in the Europa League, where he was even named MVP. Mundo Deportivo adds that he could miss around seven months.
The run of surgery cases
In roughly the last month, Juventus already faced four other procedures:
- Kenan Yildiz: operated on August 31 for a fracture in the left foot’s fifth metatarsal, picked up on the opening matchday versus Frosinone; a return timeline of three months.
- Khéphren Thuram: surgery on September 3 for patellar chondropathy in his right knee; his return isn’t expected until early 2027.
- Manuel Locatelli: operated on September 8 after tearing the lateral meniscus in his right knee against the Milan; projected time out of the squad is five to six months.
Mundo Deportivo also notes that Randal Kolo Muani was the most recent case: on Saturday he fractured the right hand’s little finger after colliding with an opponent during the match vs Atalanta, and Juventus expects him to be back once the international break ends.
