François Letexier to referee Roma vs Real Madrid on Oct 14

UEFA has appointed François Letexier as the referee for Roma vs Real Madrid on Wednesday, October 14, at the Stadio Olimpico (21:00). Dennis Higler will be in charge of VAR.

Letexier, 37, has officiated Real Madrid six times in the Champions League: three wins, one draw and two defeats. His first time with the club came in 2022/23 quarterfinals at the Bernabéu against Chelsea (2-0). Most recently, last season he refereed Real Madrid against Benfica in the first leg of the Round of 16; Real Madrid won 0-1 with a Vinícius goal, and José Mourinho was sent off after receiving two yellow cards for protests, meaning he missed the second leg on the bench.

Letexier has not yet refereed Roma in the Champions League, but he has in the Europa League: four matches, with Roma recording two wins and two losses. In his latest Roma game, the second leg of the 2024/25 Round of 16, the Italians beat Porto 3-2.
