Fredi Álvarez warns: Celta Fortuna expect a wounded Sporting after derby
The Celta Fortuna boss says Sporting will come out intense and push for physical duels following the Asturian derby.
Fredi Álvarez, head coach of Celta Fortuna, previewed the match against Sporting and said he expects a “wounded” opponent after the local derby. He pointed to the derby’s fierce atmosphere and the short distance between the two cities, calling it “very passionate” and noting that there are “very few kilometres” between the towns.
Álvarez added that if Sporting lost that derby, they will want to “give their fans a joy”, so he anticipates a side that will show “a lot of intensity” from the start.
On Sporting’s likely approach, the coach expects “physical duels” and an effort to impose their game. His message for Celta Fortuna is clear: “We have to adapt to the rival and, from there, be ourselves.” Sport (Faro de Vigo) includes his full take on what the derby may change.
