Frenkie de Jong speeds up his return to Barcelona after knee injury
He starts with non-internationals on Monday the 5th and trains with the whole group on Thursday the 8th, before the Getafe game.
Frenkie de Jong (FC Barcelona) is counting down the days to return. He is still without a league debut this season because of the right-knee injury he picked up at the World Cup, and this Saturday he shared images of his training session at the Ciutat Esportiva de Sant Joan Despí.
As Mundo Deportivo reports, the plan is for De Jong to begin working with the non-internationals on Monday the 5th, and then be back with the full squad on Thursday the 8th, two days before Barcelona host Getafe at the Spotify Camp Nou.
Return timeline
Even with the move back to team training next week, his comeback may not be immediate: Flick is expected to keep him in a two- or three-week fitness ramp-up before playing.
De Jong also sent a clear message of commitment. In the last photo of the carousel, the only thing shown was the word Barça, after he defended himself publicly in August over noise surrounding his situation.
