Gary Neville warns Manchester United: “get a grip” or face worrying weeks

After the 1-1 draw with 10-man Spurs at Old Trafford, Neville targets the midfield and points to tough fixtures vs Atletico Madrid and Leeds.

Gary Neville has warned Manchester United that they could be in for “worrying few weeks” if their players don’t “get a grip” on their season. The message follows the 1-1 draw at Old Trafford, which came with boos from the home crowd at both half-time and full-time.

As Sky Sports reports, the result extended Michael Carrick’s side’s winless run to four matches across all competitions and left them 12th in the Premier League. They had managed just one win from their first six league games, after Dominic Solanke struck in the 92nd minute to rescue a point for the 10-man visitors.

Tough run ahead

Neville also questioned the midfield pairing, criticising Youri Tielemans and Kobbie Mainoo and saying, “Tielemans and Mainoo, I think we’ve seen enough of it now”. Next up for United: an away Champions League game at Atletico Madrid on Tuesday, then a Premier League trip to Leeds on Sunday.
