Giorgi Kochorashvili in doubt as Sevilla ready for Bernabéu trip
Kochorashvili will be tested tomorrow with Sevilla; on Sunday they visit the Santiago Bernabéu with several absences.
Sevilla head into their trip to the Santiago Bernabéu with midfield uncertainty centered on Giorgi Kochorashvili, who will “try tomorrow” after training away from the group.
Kochorashvili left the session after the coach’s talk at the training ground alongside Marcao, Jon Guridi, Miguel Sierra and Iker Muñoz. In Friday’s press briefing, García Plaza laid out the situation: “We have Isaac out due to a suspension, Miguel is injured, Guridi is the same and Kocho will try tomorrow. He may be available for the bench or he may not be. We get Lucas back…”
A week of injuries
The injury wave began on Monday, the day of the clash vs Levante, when Miguel Sierra suffered a right shoulder dislocation. After that came a muscular problem for Guridi, and the rest of the squad’s work shifted to recovery.
With so many midfield absences, García Plaza faces a tough call on the XI. In recent games he has lined up Agoumé, Fofana and the Georgian together, with Guridi often brought on to freshen things up. Isaac is also missing through suspension.
The brighter note is Lucas Stassin’s return: the Belgian has recovered from his discomfort and should be available alongside Robbie Ure to form Sevilla’s attacking option for one of the toughest away days of the season.
