Giovanni Stroppa sacked by Venezia after winless Serie A start
Venezia moved on from the coach after losing every league match since returning to Serie A.
Venezia sacked Giovanni Stroppa this Tuesday following a disastrous league start: after returning to Serie A, the team lost every match.
In its statement, the club said that under Stroppa they earned promotion to Serie A in 2025/26, after a strong season in Serie B. Venezia also thanked the coach and his staff for the work and for the “professionalism, dedication and commitment” shown during their time in charge.
On the pitch, Venezia went down at home to Lecce, Fiorentina and Lazio, and also lost away to AC Milan, Frosinone and Atalanta. The only win recorded so far was in the Coppa Italia, beating Modena (3-2), before being eliminated by Udinese.
