Girona on edge: four injuries and six internationals for Mallorca visit

Girona came through against Albacete (2-0) but did it with four injured players and six squad members on international duty, putting this week in doubt.

Boss Quique Álvarez handled the game without Bryan Gil and Jastin García. Late additions were Stuani with a muscle injury and Fran Beltrán, who felt a pinch and chose not to push to be ready for the next match at Montilivi against Mallorca.

On top of those four, Girona also had to do without Holmes Junior, Asprilla, Lass, Vanat, Pyshchur and Krapyvtsov. Álvarez covered the gaps with Javi Sarasa and handed debuts to Mateu Morey and Unai Hernández. As MARCA notes, the club will monitor international schedules—especially for Holmes Junior—after Spain’s U-18 fourth match in the UEFA Friendly Cup.
