Gonzalo Romero Freixas set for Valladolid vs Córdoba on Sunday
The 32-year-old from Tarragona makes his professional debut and will referee at José Zorrilla on Sunday at 14:00.
Gonzalo Romero Freixas, the Tarragon-born referee from the Catalan panel, has been appointed by the RFEF to officiate Real Valladolid–Córdoba CF in matchday seven of Segunda División, this Sunday at José Zorrilla (14:00). It is Córdoba’s seventh game of the 2026-2027 season.
Romero Freixas (Tarragona, 1994) is 32 and, as Sport reports, is making his debut in professional football after eight uninterrupted seasons: two in the old Segunda División B, five in Primera Federación and the latest already under LaLiga Hypermotion. Across 85 matches, he has shown 433 yellow cards (5.09 per game) and issued 19 red cards.
It will be the first time he referees Córdoba and also the first time he takes charge of Fran Escribá’s team. VAR duties will be handled by Raúl Martín González Francés.
