Guruzeta in doubt: knee injury after a bad moment at Athletic
Athletic leaves Mestalla worried after Guruzeta picked up a left-knee injury, with tests expected after the return to Bilbao.
Athletic Club is on alert after Aitor Guruzeta (Athletic Club) suffered a knock to his left knee following a bad gesture. The forward was on the pitch for only six minutes before being replaced by Maroan in the 69th minute.
As reported by MARCA, Guruzeta grabbed the back of his knee almost immediately, and even players from Valencia asked for medical attention. The club will now wait for the medical tests the player will undergo once the team returns to Bilbao.
The concern is heightened by his history: in 2019, Guruzeta ruptured the cruciate ligament in his right knee while playing for Bilbao Athletic.
