Haaland “no different” after Man City verdict, says Ajer

Erling Haaland, of Manchester City, appears unaffected by the headlines surrounding the Premier League club after its financial-rule verdict. The Norway camp he’s been with since the news broke says the striker trained normally at Cardiff City Stadium ahead of his return this Thursday in the Nations League against Wales (19:45 BST).

Kristoffer Ajer, a Brentford teammate in the group, put it simply with a “no different” since the story emerged. Manager Ståle Solbakken tried to deflect questions on whether Haaland needs extra conversations because of the attention, though he admitted Haaland missed a chance vs Portugal that he would normally finish.

Haaland’s international form has been the constant: he has 65 goals in 57 appearances for Norway, including scoring in the 2-1 defeat to Portugal and twice in the 3-2 win over Denmark. BBC Sport reports the camp expects the same focus for the trip to Cardiff.
