Harry Kane says Ballon d’Or wait is ‘very stressful’ for family
Bayern and England striker faces the reveal on Monday at London Palladium after scoring 10 for the club and 6 for England this season.
Harry Kane, the Bayern München and England striker, has admitted the wait to find out if he has won the Ballon d’Or is “very stressful” for his family. The reveal comes on Monday night at the London Palladium, where he is widely seen as the front-runner.
The 33-year-old’s build-up includes Wednesday’s Champions League outing: he scored from the penalty spot in Arsenal’s 2-2 draw at the Allianz Arena, and his standout moment was an inch-perfect through ball that set up Alphonso Davies for the 1-1.
Kane’s recent record underlines why he’s in the frame. Last season he hit 61 goals for Bayern and 12 for England, and this time around he has 10 for the club and 6 for his national team. Asked whether he’d rather be told in advance, he said: “I think my wife would prefer to know… it’s very stressful for everyone”, adding he understands why the suspense is part of it.
