Harry Kane shines as England cruise past Czechia at Wembley
Kane hit a double as England beat Czechia in the Nations League, celebrating his 125th cap and 91st England goal.
England’s Harry Kane owned the night at Wembley, scoring twice as they cruised past Czechia in a comfortable Nations League win. It was also a personal milestone: his 125th appearance for the Three Lions, as he moved level with Peter Shilton, and he now sits on 91 goals for England.
Before kickoff, ITV showed him a replay of his first England goal—his header vs Lithuania in 2015, coming just 79 seconds after he came on as a substitute. On the pitch, Kane’s cross from the right played a big part in the breakthrough, with Vladimir Coufal forced into an own goal after a rushed clearance.
The second came before half-time, with Elliot Anderson’s involvement setting up Kane unmarked in the middle. After the break, Kane had another close moment—his shot kissed the crossbar—before heading in the third after Lewis Hall’s corner. Kane was taken off in the 82nd minute, and the crowd rewarded him with a huge ovation. (Source: The Guardian)
