Héctor Bellerín reveals why he turned down “La bola negra”
The Real Betis full-back explained on “Los Javis” that he rejected the role due to the industry’s precarious working conditions.
Héctor Bellerín of Real Betis revealed on Los Javis that Javier Ambrossi and Javier Calvo had written the part of Rafael Rodríguez Rapún with him in mind for the film La bola negra, although it was ultimately played by Miguel Bernardeau. Bellerín said he was approached directly by the casting team.
On Cadena SER, he said: “Me contactaron en su día las organizadoras…” and justified his refusal by pointing to the sector’s labour situation: “Son trabajos súper precarios… y dedican muchísimas horas y siguen teniendo una vida súper precaria”, adding that it seemed to him “un poco intrusismo laboral”.
He also praised the outcome: “ha salido muy bien sin mí”, and added that being considered was an honor, even if he didn’t feel it was the right fit for him.
