Iago Aspas steps up recovery from a muscle tear and targets Europa League vs Juventus
Aspas is working to return after a rectus femoris fibrillar tear; the Celta face Elche this Sunday before hosting Juventus.
Iago Aspas, from Celta, is getting up to speed after a fibrillar tear in the left rectus femoris suffered on September 13. As reported by MARCA, the striker is already four weeks into the recovery and is pushing to be available for the Europa League match against Juventus at Balaídos, scheduled for next week.
Before that European night, the Celta play at Elche on Sunday. Coach Claudio Giráldez is clear that the league game comes first. In the meantime, Aspas’s return is complicated by absences: Miguel Román, Carl Starfelt and Jones El-Abdellaoui are out, while Sebastián Cáceres is a doubt.
