Ibai Gómez’s Zaragoza rotation: 23 players have already played

Ibai Gómez is already rotating heavily at Real Zaragoza: in just six league games, the club have used 23 first-team squad players and 21 of them have been named in the starting XI at least once.

As Sport reports, against Teruel Anartz Peña made his first start of the campaign and Hugo Pinilla came on late. The coach’s approach also shows up in forced changes: Westerveld’s discomfort pushed Anartz into the XI, while Vadillo’s injury in recent games opened the door for Edu Espiau—his first start—after Pereira dropped out for Ureña, who stood out at Can Misses.

So far, no one has started all six matches. Westerveld’s 450 minutes are followed by Jardí with 463. Iranzo and Diego González missed the opener, and Terrer has 435 minutes.

From Vadillo to Pinilla

Vadillo has four appearances and his setback has meant more time for Rubén Díez, Ademo and Sangalli, while Ander is sidelined with lumbalgia. Pinilla has the least action among the 23 (11 minutes), with Tobajas (19) and Diego Monzón (20) still ahead.
