Imanol Alguacil steers Olympiacos: 0-1 at the Vélodrome

Imanol Alguacil’s Olympiacos won 0-1 at the Vélodrome against Olympique de Marseille on Europa League matchday 2, thanks to an early strike from Santiago Hezze in the 7th minute.

As Mundo Deportivo reports, the goal came from a corner and shaped the match: Olympiacos settled in and let Marseille take the initiative. The Greek side then leaned on its defensive solidity and extended a perfect run across all competitions, reaching six wins from six.

Marseille pushed hard for an equaliser, especially after the break, but couldn’t find a route to goal. With the OM finishing on zero points, the team is out of the top 24 positions.
