Iñaki Williams and Athletic: Lezama open training draws 500
This Tuesday’s Athletic open session at Lezama attracted about 500 fans, despite almost double the reservations.
The Athletic Club held an open training session at Lezama this Tuesday, but turnout didn’t match expectations: the team trained with around 500 supporters in the stands.
The plan had been set up with free reservations made available last week, using a prior sign-up process. Access went first to members and then to supporters via a platform, yet the 500 attendees weren’t all of those who had originally booked a spot. The club expected the Bilbao Athletic stadium not to reach its full capacity of 3,250 and left some stands closed.
Still, lower attendance meant that late on, fans who hadn’t signed up earlier were allowed in. According to MARCA, Athletic didn’t announce when the next open session will be.
