Isi Palazón returns to the Rayo group after nearly a month out
Rayo captain Isi Palazón rejoined training this week after nearly a month sidelined with a muscle injury, per coach Beñat San José.
Isi Palazón, Rayo Vallecano’s winger and captain, has rejoined the squad training group this week after nearly a month out with a muscle injury, coach Beñat San José said in a press conference reported by Mundo Deportivo.
Back after the setback
The Murcia native injured himself during the 20 August trip to face Alavés, retiring on 16 minutes. The incident came from a coming-together in a play where he collided with the Argentine Lucas Boyé.
Since then, Palazón missed games against Barcelona, Racing de Santander, Real Madrid and Espanyol, and was also set to miss the upcoming fixture vs Osasuna.
Training again, step by step
Beñat San José did not attach a specific return date: “Right now I can’t give a comeback timeline,” though he confirmed that the player is “joining the group little by little.” The coach also highlighted the player’s mindset, saying Palazón has “a tremendous passion for football” and wants to be there to help the team—something that “makes us all feel hopeful.”
Mundo Deportivo adds that the international break, lasting three weeks, gives him a window to catch up with the group workload through a slate of training sessions, aiming to recover rhythm before the next stage of the schedule.
The key point from the report is that his return is progressive, with the club still avoiding a firm reappearance date.
