Isidro Díaz de Mera appointed for Real Madrid vs Villarreal, VAR by Muñiz

The Referees’ Technical Committee (CTA) has confirmed the match officials for Real Madrid vs Villarreal. Isidro Díaz de Mera will be the on-pitch referee, with Alejandro Muñiz handling VAR from Las Rozas.

The announcement comes after the controversy surrounding Trujillo Suárez’s VAR role in the FC Barcelona vs Getafe match played earlier, where—according to the Real Madrid camp—two red-card incidents were not punished. The confrontation at the Bernabéu is set to kick off a little over 24 hours from now.
