Iván Fresneda and Pedro Porro: Barça targets right-back options amid Koundé

Iván Fresneda has already debuted for Spain and his name is now being floated as a potential reinforcement for Barcelona at right-back, as Mundo Deportivo reports, pointing to comments that “Decco likes him”. The 22-year-old winger/carrilero has benefited from the absence of Pedro Porro in the national team.

Porro, 28, was a starter with the Roja after the summer World Cup and has the experience that Barça wants, including a step away from the Tottenham decline of recent years. His appeal is tied to the fact that the club hasn’t found the “right” formula for the right-back role for some time.

Koundé reshuffles the transfer talk

Meanwhile, Jules Koundé has acknowledged that last season didn’t meet expectations and admits he’s currently playing in a secondary role. Even so, Xabi Alonso’s Chelsea remains keen, and if Barcelona accept they need to sell, Mundo Deportivo suggests the payoff from Koundé could be bigger than what it would cost to bring in Porro or Fresneda.
