Izan González shines for Girona: six full matches and a goal vs Las Palmas
The midfielder has played 90 minutes in six straight matches for Girona after his spell at Granada, where he already impressed.
Izan González has become a mainstay of Girona, coached by Quique Álvarez: after starting with limited minutes in the first two matchdays, he has chained six games playing the full 90 and also scored against Las Palmas.
As MARCA highlights, his value goes beyond numbers. He’s described as a “box-to-box” midfielder with high pressing, frequent recoveries, and constant movement to unbalance opponents—an intensity that fits the way Girona want to control games.
The midfielder joined Girona last summer from Cornellà for about 300,000 euros, with the deal agreed during the previous winter window. Before that, he built his path through earlier stops, including a strong spell in the Granada that boosted his second-half performance.
