Javi Rodríguez warns: Celta face nine matches in 29 days
Celta defender renewed to 2030 says the next month brings nine games in 29 days, with focus on Elche.
Javi Rodríguez, Celta Vigo defender, said this Friday that the next stretch of games will be “quite tough” thanks to the schedule: nine matches in 29 days. After signing a new deal that keeps him at the club until 2030, the 23-year-old prioritised the next fixture: first the game against Elche.
Rodríguez described how Claudio Giráldez told him he needed to improve physically, claiming he has progressed but still believes he can do more in both attack and defence. He also said he is “very happy” and “very grateful” after the club extended his contract by two more years.
On the Liga start, he admitted the team’s points tally hasn’t matched expectations, but he remains calm because, in his view, Celta’s football is “good” so far.
