Jesús Vallejo (Albacete) targets wins vs Eldense and addresses his past
The Albacete centre-back wants a quick turnaround on Sunday at Carlos Belmonte vs CD Eldense after ten league games.
Jesús Vallejo, centre-back for Albacete, spoke this Wednesday with his side sitting on one point out of thirty after ten league matches, and he is already focused on the first test: Sunday’s trip to Carlos Belmonte to face CD Eldense.
Vallejo played down the weight of his past and kept it simple: “Uno cuando está en el verde solo piensa en ganar, esté jugando para el Real Madrid, para el Albacete o para otro club”. He also stressed that the team cannot hide behind words: “eso no vale” and they must prove it “con resultados”.
The Zaragoza native admitted the situation is tough (“No es una situación para nada fácil”) but framed it as a chance to react, saying he takes it “como una oportunidad”. When asked about the target until Christmas, he stayed only on the next game: “Los tres del Eldense”.
As a recent reference, he pointed to Gijón, where Albacete equalised but still lost 2-1 with a late goal: “Se compitió bastante bien hasta el final, lástima en el último gol”. With Joseba Etxeberria, he says the focus is on being more intense and aggressive in duels, and on working daily until the fans once again get “buenas sensaciones”.
