Joan Laporta: 'Facta et non verba' amid Barça ticket price row
In a TV3 election debate, Laporta discussed a 50% discount for non-season members; for Barça-Real Madrid, four tickets total €2,656.
FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta answered a TV3 question about ticket prices for non-season members and summed up his stance with "facta et non verba", linking it to his claim of a 50% discount “from now on” if he wins the election.
During the election debate, Font put forward the example of a non-season-member family: to attend the Sevilla match on voting day with four tickets, the cost would be €636. Laporta said the club has recovered financially and argued that, with him back as president, non-season members would get that discount.
The gap between promise and practice
He repeated “now” several times and, in his answer, did not say the 50% would only apply once the stadium is fully finished. Using that same framework, the family would pay €2,656 for four tickets for Barça-Real Madrid, benefiting from a 5% partner discount—not the 50% he highlighted. Mundo Deportivo reports the inconsistency between the program’s message and the numbers that actually apply.
