Joan Laporta hits Real Madrid: «It can’t work» with Mbappé

Barcelona president Laporta questioned Real Madrid’s approach after Kylian Mbappé’s 2024 arrival ahead of Sunday’s Clásico.

FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta spoke ahead of Sunday’s Clásico versus Real Madrid (21:00) and directly criticized his Madrid rival’s recruitment model. In comments relayed by L'Équipe, he argued that Kylian Mbappé cannot fit in a setup with too many stars, saying: «More than one rooster in the same henhouse can’t work».

Laporta added that, from his perspective, Real Madrid has struggled on the sporting side since Mbappé arrived in the summer of 2024.
