Johan Manzambi shines as Aston Villa’s best-value summer buy
Aston Villa paid £47m for the Freiburg winger—he missed debut time with a knee injury and still averages 1.27 goal involvements.
Johan Manzambi is showing why Sky Sports has him among the best-value signings of the summer for Aston Villa. In its transfer-valuation study, his market-adjusted value was £74.8m at the time of his £47m move from Freiburg.
The 21-year-old had to bide his time after arriving with a knee injury, only making his full debut in mid-September. Since then, the impact has come fast: he delivered a goal and an assist on his first start against Tottenham. He also found the net again in the Champions League—scoring in Villa’s rout of Fenerbahçe on Wednesday after setting up a second goal four days earlier vs Brentford.
Across all competitions, he is averaging 1.27 goal involvements per 90 minutes, according to Sky Sports.
