Jordan Pickford pleads guilty after near-miss in his Lamborghini
The Everton keeper admitted reckless driving and will appear in court on December 7 in Cheshire.
Jordan Pickford (Everton) has pleaded guilty for reckless driving after nearly causing an accident in his Lamborghini on April 14, as reported by Mundo Deportivo.
A Cheshire Police officer said Pickford ignored the yield lines at the Princess Street junction with Toft Road, forcing two other drivers to brake sharply. Authorities added that after the incident he failed to stop for police signals, triggering a pursuit in which he reached 80 km/h in a 48 km/h zone, before pulling over on the roadside.
This week the England international submitted a written guilty plea and requested a court appearance to set out mitigating circumstances. The scheduled hearing was postponed, meaning Pickford must attend on December 7 in a Cheshire court, in the north of England.
It is not the first controversy for the goalkeeper: years earlier he was involved in a bar fight in East Boldon, and in 2019 footage emerged of him being involved in a punch-up outside a pub in Sunderland. In 2021, images circulated from a post-Euro party, and he was also linked to threats following the serious injury suffered by Virgil van Dijk.
