Jorge Herrando (Osasuna) returns from left adductor injury, eyes captaincy

Herrando says he’s past the worst of his left adductor problem and recalls how Sadar crowds demand more.

Jorge Herrando, Osasuna’s defender, looks at the team’s early league run while recovering from an adductor injury in his left leg. He says he has already turned the corner: “Ya he pasado los peores días, donde tenía que ir con muletas y casi no podía andar.”

The centre-back picked up the issue against Getafe and adds that he is tolerating training work, including light exercise (“sudar un poco haciendo ejercicio”), even if he regrets the timing after starting in the early matches. He also notes that, during his loan spell at Logroñés, he suffered the same type of injury on the other leg and remembers feeling “una mezcla de angustia y rabia” when he realised how serious it was.

On the coach, Herrando believes Luis Ramírez may be the one who has trusted him most: “Con Ramis había empezado jugando y estaba confiando en mí.” He also talks about the pressure at El Sadar, saying the supporters “están viendo que somos capaces de más”. Finally, he links his long-term plan with the armband: “Me gustaría pasar aquí prácticamente toda mi carrera” and “sería un orgullo ser capitán.” (MARCA).
