José Copete returns after eight months: Valencia include him vs Villarreal

Valencia have included José Copete in the squad for this Saturday’s match at Mestalla against Villarreal, after eight months on the sidelines. His previous appearance also came against Villarreal, though that time at La Cerámica.

Copete injured himself on February 22 in the Villarreal game with a meniscus problem in his left knee. He underwent surgery twice, which extended his recovery and kept him out for months.

After weeks training with the group, the centre-back is pushing to get into the matchday squad, as reported by Mundo Deportivo. The squad returned to training this Tuesday with Umar Sadiq still recovering, potentially available in 10 to 12 days, along with long-term absentees Diego López and Sergi Canós. David Otorbi had to stop training due to stomach issues.
