José Herrera joins Manchester United’s coaching staff
After helping Atlético Madrid finish fifth in Liga and reach the Copa de la Reina final, Herrera now assists Eva Olid at United.
José Herrera has joined the Manchester United women’s coaching setup to work alongside Eva Olid, with Gavin Beith and Dan Bale also part of the support staff. He arrives after a season in charge of Atlético de Madrid, where the team finished fifth in the Liga and reached the Copa de la Reina final, as Mundo Deportivo reports.
Herrera has already started work in Manchester: the piece notes he’s been on the ground with Olid for several days. His coaching path before Atlético includes stints at Málaga, Granada, UD Tenerife and Al-Hilal, along with a UEFA professional licence.
United’s recent form matches the timing. The club are coming off three consecutive wins—two in the cup against Sheffield and Durham, and another in the Women’s Super League versus West Ham. In that latest match, Andrea Medina had a starring role by scoring the goal that sealed the win.
