José Luis Gayà puts Valencia renewal on hold: “we’ll talk”

Valencia captain José Luis Gayà spoke about his future and the team’s situation after receiving a tribute at the Small Shareholders’ Association. The full-back says he’s “in a good moment” with “good feelings” and believes that with Quique Aguirre on the bench Valencia will “get out” of the relegation zone.

Renewal later

Gayà highlights Aguirre’s demanding approach from day one and points to his experience, saying the coach “mentioned that he’s had almost 500 league matches” and that it matters. On his own renewal, he doesn’t set a timeline: “Obviously I’d like to… Braulio said it too… for now the most important thing is the team,” adding, “About my renewal, I’ve said it… as Braulio said, we’ll talk.”

Next up is a “special” game at El Sardinero, where he expects Valencia “to push forward”.
