José Luis Morales signs for Oviedo until June 2027

Oviedo have agreed to sign José Luis Morales, who will stay at the club until June 2027. The deal comes after Chris Ramos suffered a ruptured cruciate ligament injury in the Asturian derby.

Morales, born in Madrid on 23 July 1987, developed at Parla and Fuenlabrada before breaking out in the 2011-12 season with Atlético Levante. After two years with Levante’s reserve side, he was loaned to Eibar, helping them earn promotion to LaLiga.

He returned to Levante, where he became captain over eight seasons. In summer 2023 he moved to Villarreal, scoring 25 goals in two seasons and playing in European competition. Prior to this latest step, he went back to Levante, finishing with 83 goals and 46 assists, ending as the club’s all-time top scorer, according to MARCA.
