José Morante Jr makes Betis debut count with a goal vs Osasuna
He scored from the edge of the box with his left foot in his first-team debut as Betis keep their league podium spot.
José Morante Jr, 19, made his first-team debut for Real Betis by scoring against Osasuna. With just a few minutes on the pitch, he struck from the front of the area with his left foot, leaving the visiting goalkeeper with no chance.
The goal came with a personal message: immediately after netting, José Morante Jr celebrated with the “capote” gesture as a tribute to his father, the bullfighter Morante de la Puebla. As reported by Mundo Deportivo, Betis fans had been calling for more minutes for him since the start of the season.
The match ended in a rout for Betis, who held onto their place on the league podium before hosting Barcelona next.
