José Mourinho ends with yellow and a fall as Real Madrid clash erupts vs Villarreal
The Portuguese coach finished with a booking that could have been red, while the match sparked multiple dismissals after Vinícius’s incident.
José Mourinho, Real Madrid’s coach, finished the match vs Villarreal with a booking that the referee could have turned into a red. As Mundo Deportivo reports, he spent much of the game complaining to the officiating team, and after stumbling and falling while protesting, he didn’t calm down.
The controversy also centered on Vinícius: Mourinho ran to celebrate a goal, but it didn’t count and the Brazilian was sent off. The situation escalated into a scuffle between the two benches, and a Mourinho staff member plus Villarreal’s delegate were also dismissed.
