Real Madrid head coach José Mourinho cancelled the press conference after the 1-0 win over Villarreal, in a match that was marked by tension and ended with Vinicius being sent off.
According to club sources cited by Mundo Deportivo, Mourinho’s message for not attending was that he wants “to be there against Sevilla and Barça”. The decision was made to avoid remarks that could lead to a sanction and keep him off the bench in the upcoming fixtures.
Mourinho, who already had tense and controversial moments with the media during his first spell at the Santiago Bernabéu, chose silence this time and left without speaking to the press.
