Juan Manuel Rodríguez takes the blame after Las Palmas' 0-3 loss
The new Las Palmas coach debuted with a 0-3 defeat to Castellón and urged patience, unity and better set pieces.
Juan Manuel Rodríguez is processing his first match as coach of UD Las Palmas after a 0-3 loss to Castellón, and he has taken full responsibility. In his comments, he said he feels “discontented and sad about the result” and insisted: “the blame for losing is ours” because “I am the direct person responsible for everything.”
The coach pointed to two early goals conceded in the first half and the injury to Iñaki González as key factors. He also asked for calm with the stands, saying “the fans are always our number 12” and calling for patience to turn things around.
Regarding the crowd reaction, he added: “if they weren’t bothered, that would be illogical,” while still urging unity. He stressed that in LaLiga2 “you win many games from set pieces.” Álex Suárez was more direct with the players: “if they need to insult, they should insult the players.” Enzo Loiodice admitted they feel “down” and Manu Fuster said it’s time to “face up to it next time.” Source: MARCA.
