Junior Firpo (Betis) injures left adductor; expected to miss ~3 weeks
Real Betis confirm Junior Firpo has a left adductor muscle injury, with an estimated three-week layoff.
Junior Firpo, left-back for Real Betis, has a left adductor muscle injury and the club expects him to be out for around three weeks. As the team’s medical update notes, his return to group training will depend on how he progresses after he underwent tests in Seville following an early return from international duty with the Dominican Republic.
The issue flared up in the international match against Haiti, when he was forced off the pitch just ten minutes after kickoff. That absence also ruled him out of the next game with his national team.
The injury hits at a very demanding stretch for Betis, with nine matches in 28 days across LaLiga, the Champions League and the Copa del Rey, and it will push Pellegrini to look for options at left-back for at least those three weeks. With fewer choices, Valentín Gómez could take some turns on the left, as he did last season.
