Kang-in Lee returns to training: says ankle is “not serious”
The Atlético midfielder is back this Thursday after playing 45 minutes for South Korea; his status will be checked for the Alavés trip to Vitoria.
Kang-in Lee, Atlético Madrid’s player, will return to training this Thursday after travelling from South Korea and arriving in Madrid at around 19:00 (departed close to 4:00; a flight of roughly 15 hours). With his national team, he played 45 minutes versus Uzbekistan and was taken off at half-time as a precaution.
Coach Robert Moreno said “his ankle wasn’t well” and that the midfielder himself signaled the substitution. After the match, Kang-in eased concerns: “I’ve had discomfort for a while. It’s not serious. Since it’s an old injury, I need to look after it properly.”
Simeone will now have two training sessions to decide whether the midfielder starts in Vitoria against Alavés. His availability will hinge on the condition of his ankle and fatigue after the three matches with South Korea, in a crucial game for the title race.
