Kirian, the Las Palmas captain, reached 200 matches with the yellow shirt in a bittersweet moment after a tough stretch. During the club’s tribute, he explained that the milestone arrived after months of uncertainty linked to his health.

A scare back in July

As he told the club media, since July doctors gave him a possible relapse scenario and he believed he might have to stop playing. In his words: “No han sido meses fáciles para mí… Desde julio me encontraron una posibilidad de recaída. Todo parecía que sí, que me tocaba parar.” He also highlighted the mental strain: “Fueron meses complicados porque mi mente no estaba tranquila.”

“I’ve been told I’m clean”

Kirian stressed that the message he’s been waiting for finally came. “Me han dado la noticia de que estaba todo bien, que estoy limpio,” he said, adding that he wanted to leave the whole episode behind. Reaching the milestone, he insisted, isn’t just about the number—it's about being able to keep going.
