Kubo, Oyarzabal and Guedes stay stuck on zero as Real host Depor
Real begin the match in Anoeta with no goals from their attack: Kubo’s 595 days, Oyarzabal on 11 games, Guedes since March 15.
Real Sociedad will try to end its attacking drought on Sunday against Deportivo de A Coruña, a LaLiga classic returning to Anoeta after eight and a half years. After a strong run to close the first part of the season, the Basques beat Valencia in Mestalla to finish eighth, level on points with their visitors in seventh.
The issue is that the “front” that usually decides matches still hasn’t found the net often enough. Takefusa Kubo, Mikel Oyarzabal and Guedes are tied to worrying scoring streaks: Kubo has not scored in 2026 and his last goal came in December 2025; Anoeta’s last league celebration was in February 2025 versus Leganés. Guedes hasn’t scored for Real since March 15 against Osasuna, while Oyarzabal is on 11 straight games without a goal.
Carrera steps in
With Óskarsson suspended, Gorka Carrera is expected to be the fresh option for this game. He climbs to provide minutes for the first team and get on the scoresheet after scoring twice for the Sanse, most recently against Granada last weekend in Zubieta. As Mundo Deportivo notes, this is the right moment to stop the streaks.
