Kvicha Kvaratskhelia set for ACL surgery after PSG’s 4-2 win vs Barcelona
PSG confirmed the winger will undergo surgery in the coming days after an ACL rupture, ruling him out of the Champions League trip to Aston Villa on Dec 8.
PSG have confirmed that Kvicha Kvaratskhelia has ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and is set for surgery in the coming days. The winger picked up the injury in Tuesday night’s 4-2 win over Barcelona.
The 25-year-old, who was named the Champions League’s best player last season, is also nominated for the 2026 Ballon d’Or. While PSG did not provide a recovery timeline, the injury puts serious pressure on whether he can return this season, and he will definitely miss the Champions League trip to Aston Villa on December 8.
The setback is compounded by injuries also affecting Ousmane Dembélé and captain Marquinhos during the same 4-2 victory.
