PSG kept tabs on Laciné Megnan, but the 16-year-old forward at Montpellier has renewed and will stay until 2029. As RMC Sport reports, Paris made repeated moves for the striker last summer.

PSG pushed hard

The talks even included talk of a five-year agreement, while the PSG side sent several offers to the MHSC. In the end, Montpellier held on and Megnan remained at the club.

Born in 2010, Megnan has started the season strongly: he has played seven Ligue 2 matches out of nine and scored two goals. This Thursday, Montpellier confirmed that the attacker—who turned pro in February—has officially extended his contract.

In a club statement, Megnan said the renewal shows the club’s “interest” and that when the leadership spoke to him, he “immediately said yes.” He added that staying was “an obvious choice,” and said he hopes they can go “as far as possible” with Montpellier sitting second in Ligue 2 behind Saint-Étienne.
